The Midwest Racers’ Expo will take place this weekend Friday, January 8 and Saturday, January 9 at the former Menard’s building on Pontiac Drive in Janesville, Wisconsin. The Expo features an auction and trade show, as well as informational meetings hosted by various touring series from the Midwest.
Midwest Motorsports, who oversees the expo, has been serving the industry in the Upper Midwest since 1981. They have hosted the Racers’ Expo in several locations including: Green Bay and Madison, Wisconsin; Rockford, Illinois; and Kalamazoo, Michigan. Several years ago the Expo moved to a central location.
Consignments from across the Midwest are put up for auction throughout the two day span. Items range from shocks and springs to entire race cars. Other non-racing related items such as TVs, other appliances, and hockey jerseys have been auctioned off in the past, as well. Some of the early consignments include a rebuilt Sportsman, 32-foot enclosed trailer and a state-of-the-art pit box.
Those from the Midwest who didn’t have a chance to make PRI will have a second chance to see some of the exhibitors’ new products. Coleman Racing Products, Five Star Race Car Bodies, Hoosier Racing Tires, and Wehrs Machine will be among over 30 companies displaying at the Expo. Also among those racing-related businesses displaying are local tracks and touring series.
On Saturday several Midwestern-based series will be hosting informational meetings including: The ARCA Midwest Tour, Big-8 Late Model Series, Central Wisconsin Racing Association, Great Northern Sportsman Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Midwest Dash Series, Upper Midwest Vintage Series and TUNDRA Super Late Model Series.
Expo doors open for the Trade Show at 3 P.M. on Friday 8 A.M. on Saturday. The auction begins at 4 P.M. Friday and 9am Saturday.
