Top drivers from both Jefferson Speedway and Slinger Super Speedway will roll into town this Friday night June 10 for the Opening Round of the Badgerland Challenge at Madison International Speedway. Currently twenty seven Late Models and twenty one Sportsman drivers are expected to battle on ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’. “This is a neat deal, allowing drivers from our neighboring tracks to not only go for a Championship for themselves, but they will be earning points towards a team win for their home track.” Stated Madison International Speedway owner Gregg McKarns. “We came very close to winning the overall track title last year and just missed out, I know our teams are hoping for better results in 2016. We think the Badger trophy should be kept here, not at Jefferson.” Referring to the traveling badger trophy currently on display at Jefferson, which is awarded to the track earning the most points. Friday night will feature the NASCAR Late Models, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman in the Badgerland Challenge with the Pelliteri Waste Systems Bandits and Roto Rooter 6shooters competing on the Ring of Fire quarter mile track. Pit gates will open at 3:30, , spectator gates open at 6, qualifying at 6:15 with the R.A. Heating and Cooling Dashes at 7:30pm. Adult general admission tickets are $14, Whelen Heroes and Seniors are $12, Students (ages 12-17) $8, Kids (6-11) $5 with children 5 and under admitted Free. The second round of the Badgerland Challenge will take place on Sunday July 17 at Slinger Super Speedway and the Championship Round will play out of Saturday August 20 at Jefferson Speedway.
