A late-race tangle kept Ty Majeski from visiting Victory Lane in the 2016 edition of the Dells Raceway Park Falloween event. This year almost brought the same fate. However, fortune would be on the side of Majeski in helping to hold off last year’s winner Casey Johnson.
With just two laps to go Majeski – who had dominated the second half of the rain-delayed 150-lap race – restarted alongside Johnson. The duo quickly spaced themselves from the pack by several car lengths. Johnson pulled a crossover move in an attempt to get to the inside line and steal the top spot, making contact with Majeski. As Majeski attempted to save his car from spinning, several drivers behind created a massive pileup. The result would see Majeski spin out of turn two while four cars wrecked behind him simultaneously.
The four-car pileup was ruled as the cause of the caution and both Majeski and Johnson were left for another showdown. This time Majeski left no doubt as he jumped away from Johnson and cruised to the win. John Beale finished Third, Skylar Holzhausen was Fourth, and Jon Reynolds, Jr. rounded out the Top Five.
