ARCA/CRA Super Series Set for Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway Saturday

The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will continue its Chase for the Championship this Saturday, as part of the 31st running of the Central Transport Glass City 200 presented by the Hampton Inn and Courtyard by Marriott at Toledo Speedway, located in Toledo, Ohio. This will be the third straight season that the ARCA/CRA Super Series has been part of this prestigious Glass City 200 that will feature the ARCA/CRA Super Series in a 100-lap feature event and the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models in a 100-lap feature event. Both features will pay $5,000 to win and $800 to start, with a total purse of over $60,000. 1999 race winner Tim Felver will serve as Grand Marshal for the event.

2018 series Champion and 2019 series Regular Season points Champion Josh Brock, a two-time series winner in 2019, is already locked into the final four Chase for the Championship drivers who will race for the season Championship at the Winchester 400, and leads the series points heading to Toledo Speedway. 2019 Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Jack Dossey III is second in points of the Chase for the Championship drivers and has one series victory this season in the series season opener at Anderson Speedway.

Greg Van Alst is in third in the Chase points, he is 26 points behind Dossey III. 2017 series Champion Logan Runyon is in fourth place in Chase points, he is 14 points behind Van Alst. Hunter Jack is in fifth place in Chase points, he is only two points behind Runyon. Austin Kunert is in sixth place in Chase points, he is 12 points behind Jack. All six Chase drivers are entered for Saturday nights race.

The series Toledo Speedway June 30th event winner Brian Campbell is entered. Campbell has picked up one other series win this season, the Money in the Bank 150 on June 10th at Berlin Raceway. Campbell is now second in all-time series wins with 29, right behind series all-time winner and three time series Champion Scott Hantz.

Three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn is also entered. VanDoorn has been to victory lane once this season with the series, in the Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway on July 15th. VanDoorn is now in third place on the series all-time wins list with 23, behind Campbell and Hantz.

2013 and 2014 series Champion Travis Braden is entered for Saturday’s race. Braden is competing full time with the ARCA Menards Series again in 2019 but has been able to race in several series events in 2019 and has an astounding five second place finishes so far in 2019 with the series, including the June 30th Toledo event.

Other top CRA drivers entered include 2016 series Champion and former series Toledo winner Cody Coughlin, Kyle Crump who won his first ever series event at Kalamazoo Speedway in August, Harold Fair Jr. who won a Toledo Speedway ARCA/CRA Super Series event 19 years ago, and Fair’s teammate Hayden Sprague who got a series high fourth place finish at Kalamazoo. Also entered are Brett Robinson, Jordan Pruitt, Jerry Artuso, Brandon Varney and Albert Francis.

2018 ARCA Midwest Tour Champion Dalton Zehr is entered to make his ARCA/CRA Super Series debut Saturday night. Zehr is a three-time winner with The Midwest Tour and had 11 Tundra Super Late Model Series wins from 2011 through the 2017 season. Zehr has been the Crew Chief for Wisconsin native John Beale in 2019 but gets the chance to jump behind the wheel to race this weekend.

On Friday, September 20th, there will be optional rig parking from 6 pm to 7pm. There will be no unloading of equipment on Friday.

Race day begins on Saturday with pit registration opening at 9:30, pit gates will open at 10am. Practice will go from 1pm to 4pm on a rotating basis with the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams receiving three, 30-minute sessions. Qualifying will begin at 4:30pm. An on-track autograph session with all drivers will take place at 5:30pm with racing beginning at 6:30pm with the Victory Custom Trailer Sales CRA Junior Late Models 30 lap feature event, the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models 100 lapper will be next, followed by the ARCA/CRA Super Series 100 lap event. The rain date if needed is Sunday, September 22nd.
