CWRA Year End Review

With three races remaining on the CWRA, Cedar Creek Rustic Village, as presented by Bentley Trucking, Stars to Legends Tour, it's John Beale, of Verona, WI., leading the point standings with 508. Beale is racing with CWRA for the first time for the 2020 season and has a narrow margin over two time defending Champion, Jeff Weinfurter, Wis. Rapids, WI., who has 498 points. Beale has captured two main events thus far in 2020 and is tied for 1st in that category with Mark Mackesy, Wausau, WI. Of the twelve Features contested, there have been 10 different winners. To say it has been a competitive year on the Tour would certainly be an understatement. Other main event winners include, Jesse Bernhagen, Markesan, WI., Harley Jankowski, Sparta, WI., Travis Volm, Mosinee, WI., Paul Paine, Mound, MN., Weinfurter, Colin Reffner, Wis. Rapids, WI., Steve Carlson, West Salem, WI., and Jesse Pokszyk, Friendship, WI. Four of the main events have been decided on the last lap with three of those ending in photo finishes. For certain, the procedures and format CWRA implements each race night, have produced some of the closest racing in the Nation. Bentley Trucking fast qualifiers during the year include, Mark Eswein, Wis. Rapids, WI., Volm, Darek Gress, Neillsville, WI., and Reffner. Those drivers have shown remarkable skill in coming from deep in Feature fields to win main events. 42 drivers have participated in race programs and earned points with CWRA in 2020, with an average car count of 18/event. Attendance for CWRA shows in 2020 is up nearly 40% as well from 2019. So, with that in mind, despite the Covid 19 viruses' attempt to put a stop to racing this year, there is no doubt CWRA competition will be exciting and close, come August, 22nd, September 11th, and September 19th, at Marshfield Motor Speedway, Marshfield, WI., as the Tour concludes its season.
