BEALE CONTINUES HIS WINNING WAYS IN MARSHFIELD SPRING OPENER!
Marshfield, WI, May 7, 2022 – When race fans & teams rolled into Marshfield Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon, they were blessed with beautiful warm-sunny weather, for a great day of racing action!
In super late model qualifying action, it was Verona, WI driver John Beale taking fast time, tripping the clock with a lap time of 18.198 seconds. This was quite impressive as Marshfield runs on the 1070 Hoosier tire. This tire is less aggressive, allowing the tire to last longer, making for great racing action throughout the year. Curt Tillman notched his first win of the season as he captured the Chili Implement Dash 4 Cash, edging out John Beale.
As the super late models hit the track for their feature event, it was Brad Gajewski leading the way, Gajewski would lead the first few laps. On lap three, it was Wisconsin Rapids, WI veteran driver Jeff Weinfurter making the inside pass of Gajweski for the race lead. Weinfurter led the next 7 laps, before giving way to Eugene Gregorich, Jr. Gregorich, Jr.’s lead was brief however, as John Beale made the inside pass for the lead, as Eugene Gregorich, Jr. pushed up the track in turn one. Mark Eswein worked his way to the second position by lap 14, but could not cut the lead that Beale built up for himself. As starter Geno Eckes threw the checkered flag, it was John Beale capturing the feature win. With Mark Eswein and Darren Jackson finishing second and third respectively, it was Jerad deBoer and Eugene Gregorich, Jr. rounding out the top five.
