The 54th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend took place October 5th-8th, 2023. With 4 days of racing and 17 divisions, including the ASA Midwest Tour, it is the largest short track racing event of the year.
Historically Gildan Racing has been successful at Oktoberfest. In 2004 Brian Hoppe was the Oktoberfest Champion while driving the #51 Gildan race car while competing in the NASCAR Auto Zone Division, Dalton Zehr owns the track record (Fastest lap ever turned) in the Knights Super Late Model division and John Beale was crowned CWRA Champion in 2020 at Oktoberfest. La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway is a NASCAR Sanctioned track and Oktoberfest attracts large crowds, a sold-out Camper Village and Souvenir Row with Gildan apparel. The Gildan Racing #119 showed speed all weekend and the team members did a great job during the pit stops for Sunday’s 200 lap event. Dalton Zehr led 34 laps towards the end of the race but NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Ty Majeski had other plans and contact was made while the two were racing back and forth for the lead. MidwestTour.TV covers all 4 days of racing on their broadcast. Gildan Racing was the sole provider of in car cameras for MidwestTour.TV & PitRow.TV in 2023 and you can watch the highlights from Oktoberfest by clicking here.
