Gildan Racing topped the charts in 2023 for the most feature wins in the United States ahead of Ty Majeski Racing & Bubba Pollard Racing.  How do they stack up against the competition in Wisconsin during qualifying? During the 2023 season 229 drivers attempted to qualify for a race and 52 different drivers recorded at least one fast time award.  With that, only 22% of drivers across the Wisconsin region were able to score a fast time, and only 12% were able to set multiple fast times! NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor Ty Majeski topped the list, followed by Chad Butz & John Beale.  Beale ranked 3rd for the number of times he had fast time in qualifying. Gildan Racing hosted the Verona Area High School Automotive Technology Level 3 class at their facility on December 19th, 2023 for a day of activities.  Students learned about the connections between the classroom & race track.  Math, physical & mental conditioning, technology, geometry and car maintenance were highlighted.   Next up was the Pit Stop Competition where teams of 3 jacked up the race car and changed tires while on the clock.  Gabe, Samer & Logan each went home with a trophy and gift cards due to their winning time of 43 seconds.   The goal is to make this an annual event and expand the learning process for these students in the auto racing industry.  A more hands-on approach will be taken where they can maintain and set up the suspension, then the students’ will head to the race track and see their efforts in action.    The day ended with a presentation from the Beale Foundation to Verona Area High School for college scholarships.  The Beale Foundation has historically worked with Paralyzed Veterans of America giving wounded veterans all terrain wheelchairs, but is now expanding into giving back to the local community.   The Gildan Racing Team will also be in attendance for Senior Awards Night on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 where the scholarship winners will be announced.  The team will be presenting the scholarships on Monday, May 6th, 2024 at the Senior Honors Night Ceremony in Verona.

The 54th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend took place October 5th-8th, 2023.  With 4 days of racing and 17 divisions, including the ASA Midwest Tour,(https://starsnationaltour.com/midwest/) it is the largest short track racing event of the year. The Performance Racing Industry Trade Show encompasses all forms of racing and attracts 40,000+ attendees from all 50 states and 70 countries.  The annual trade show features over 1,000 companies exhibiting in more than 3,600 booths showcasing the latest products & services for the racing industry at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.  The Gildan Racing Team started off at the Grand Opening Breakfast with 2013 Indy 500 Champ Tony Kanaan.  Then the team got to work meeting with all of their vendors.  The team discussed new products, 2024 partnership agreements and the products or services their sponsors offer to make our vendors aware that Gildan,(https://www.gildan.com/) First Business Bank (https://firstbusiness.bank/)& Forward Development Group (https://www.forwarddevgroup.com/)can help them on a professional and personal basis.  The team also splits up throughout the weekend to attend a variety of education seminars at the trade show.  PRI offers 22 educational seminars related to race car technology, marketing & business in the auto racing industry.

It’s that time of year again where the Gildan Racing Team travels to banquets and celebrates their success from the race season. The Dells Raceway Park banquet was our first stop for the off-season where they picked up some hardware and winnings. John Beale was awarded with 2 fast times during qualifying in 2023 in the Super Late Model Division. “Dells has the strongest Super Late Model competition in the Midwest so I was happy that John showed speed this year” said Dalton Zehr regarding the team’s efforts in 2023. Next up was the Tundra Series banquet where the Gildan Racing Team was crowned as the 2023 Champions. With 3 fast times in qualifying at Wisconsin International Raceway, State Park Speedway & Marshfield Motor Speedway it was a record-breaking year for the team. To top it off the team also had feature wins at Norway Speedway (Michigan), Golden Sands Speedway & double features at Marshfield Motor Speedway. After the final race of 2023 concluded on December 3rd in Florida, the National Super Late Model Rankings were tallied. We are proud to say Gildan Racing topped the charts for feature wins (Dalton 6, John 2) and fast times (John 4, Dalton 3). Bubba Pollard Racing & Ty Majeski Racing tied for second in feature wins. In qualifying efforts, 7 teams tied behind Gildan Racing. National Super Late Model Rankings tracks the top 100 teams in the USA and we are proud that John, Dalton & the entire race team’s efforts are showing up on the race track.

The 5B & 119 have shown speed during the late summer stretch, racking up several wins under competition.  John Beale has set fast time in qualifying 4 times now and won 2 feature events.  In qualifying Beale has shown speed at Dells Raceway Park & State Park Speedway, while the feature wins have come at Golden Sands Speedway. Dalton Zehr has shown his speed in qualifying during the Tundra Series trips to Wisconsin International Raceway & Marshfield Motor Speedway. In Alive For 5 Series qualifying he set fast time at Madison International Speedway for the Capital 100.  His feature wins have come during the ASA Midwest Tour event at Jefferson Speedway and the Tundra Series events at Norway Speedway, Golden Sands Speedway & Marshfield Motor Speedway. The GIldan Racing team has already wrapped up the Tundra Championship in dominating fashion with 4 feature wins and 2 fast times in the series during 2023. John & Dalton are the first to ever win the championship in series history as Team Drivers. Dalton is currently 4th in the Alive For 5 championship & 3rd in the Hard Charger Award at Dells Raceway Park.  John & Dalton have finished in first place under competition 108 times now in their 5th year as drivers for Gildan Racing.

The Gildan Racing Team is on par with another record-breaking year just like 2022.  The team worked hard in the off season preparing the cars and it’s showing in the results.  Pre-season testing is also paying benefits as the drivers and cars are fast when they unload off the transporter during practice. John Beale is showing his strength in qualifying and feature events.  He set fast time in qualifying at Dells Raceway Park in the UMA Super Late Models on May 20th and at the State Park Showdown on June 22nd at State Park Speedway.  John has won the premier event @ Golden Sands in 2020 and 2021 called the Dick Trickle 99.  After an engine failure in 2022 he backed up his previous stats by winning the race again on Memorial Day of 2023. John also won the season opener for weekly competition at Golden Sands Speedway on June 16th.  Dalton Zehr is following the trend in qualifying and features.  Dalton set fast time in qualifying at Wisconsin International Raceway during the Tundra event & Madison International Speedway during the Alive For Five Series.  Dalton also won the Salute the Troops 100 @ Jefferson Speedway in the ASA Midwest Tour.  John & Dalton are team driving in the Tundra Super Late Model Series where they are leading in the championship points standings by 7 points over the team of Brock Heinrich & Travis Volm.

Gildan Racing had a busy off season traveling from one awards banquet to another collecting trophies & checks. John Beale won championships at Marshfield Motor Speedway while Dalton Zehr won championships at Wisconsin International Raceway. The team also finished 2nd in the Tundra Series Championship, losing by only 3 points which is equal to one position in any race all year long.
